The standards and principles that govern every piece of content published on The Moving Playbook.
Independence
All editorial decisions — what to write about, what to recommend, how to score a company — are made entirely by our editorial team, independent of commercial considerations. No company can pay for coverage, influence our scores, or request removal of negative reviews.
Accuracy and Updates
Every article displays a “last updated” date. We review and update articles on the following schedule:
- Cost guides: Updated quarterly, or immediately when market data changes significantly
- Company reviews: Reviewed semi-annually, plus immediately when a company undergoes major changes
- State guides: Updated annually with fresh Census, BLS, and housing data
- Checklists and tools: Reviewed annually unless regulations change
Corrections
When we identify or are notified of a factual error, we correct it promptly and note the correction clearly within the article. We do not silently edit articles to remove errors — all corrections are dated and disclosed.
